say my name!

It came up again today. I get it all the time. I introduce myself to people and, as a matter of practice, always tell people my full name: Poly the Bear.

And then it happens. It never fails. The moment I say my name, some smart-ass biped pipes up and says, "koalas aren't bears, you know."

No sh!t, Sherlock! Don't you think I know that by now? I'm a marsupial! But my full name is Poly the Bear. It would not be the first time an animal of one species is named after another species.

Remember Eddie, the Jack Russell terrier on Frasier? His real name was Moose. Remember the TV show, BJ and the Bear? You think Bear was a bear? No! It was a chimpanzee.

Or how about the Brady Bunch? They had a dog named Tiger! Why not just call him Cat?

You get my point. Poly the Bear is my name, don't wear it out.

waiting for the cooldown.

I hate waiting. I really do. I'm sitting here, waiting for A/C repairmen to come and fix the broken down piece of crap I call an air-conditioner. This apartment is so freakin' hot it's not even funny anymore. Yeah, Kevin's not really good about calling to get things fixed in an expeditious manner, so he left it to me to deal with.

So Brinkley, Payton and I are sitting here DYING from the heat. Look at us! We don't have sweat glands!!

When will these guys get here? The sooner they fix this thing, the sooner we don't have to look at Kevin without his shirt on anymore.

For real, no one needs to see that.

guess who's back?

I've been away for awhile, haven't I? Sorry about that. Lately I've been unable to get some computer time because of the wicked hangover. See, I was celebrating the Red Wings winning the Stanley Cup. But I'm all better now!

What's been going on? Quite a bit, really. I got a new job, so no more part-time paper route for me! I'm not dating anyone just now, but it's all good. Just because I'm not dating doesn't mean I'm not having fun. ;-)

Speaking of koalas. The Indianapolis Zoo recently got a couple new koalas. I might have to go say hello some time.

I'm heading to Michigan next week and Vegas in a couple months. It's gonna be a busy few weeks for me.

Hope you're well.

Things To Do In Tulsa When You're Bored

It looks like Tulsa is a go for us. Woo hoo! So now what the hell am I going to do there for four days??? Mr. doofus who's taking me is going to be off doing his basketball crap, so I need to keep busy.

I could hang out by the pool, I suppose. I could also order up a buttload of room service. I wonder if they have eucalyptus juice. Hmm.....

Anybody have any ideas on where a bear can go in Tulsa for a rub and a tug?

Oh, it's a bandit, all right. But it ain't got no arms!!!!

That didn't seem to stop it from taking my hard-earned coin, though.

Good thing the drinks were free!

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!

Hi again! Sorry I've been away for so long. See, I've been doing a little traveling. I was in Vegas in October. Woo hoo!!! I'll post my pics of that trip soon. My travels will continue, too.

I'm going to Tulsa in a few weeks to watch some basketball. That should be lots of fun, I hope.

I also want everybody to know I'm an uncle now! The tall people in the house made a small people. His name is Lance. He looks nothing like me, but it's okay. I think he might be bigger than me now.

I need to get to bed now, but I wanted to say hello and let you know I'm still around. I'll post my Vegas pics soon.

Later!!

big-pimpin', koala style.

Hey all! Things are going really well here in Indy these days. My paper route is paying off bigtime! It looks like I'll be able to go to Vegas after all! I sooooooooooo can't wait! I've never been there. Believe me, that town ain't seen nuthin until I roll up in my Benz with my bling and big-pimpin' style. It's gonna me off tha chain!!

So yeah, I'm pretty excited about that.

This season in college football is already completely upside down. Terrie's Vols lost to Florida and Kevin's Maize-and-Blue BLEW IT against Notre Dame. I'm predicting lots of one-loss teams in the Top Ten this year, so all hope is certainly not lost.

It's only two weeks into this season's Survivor and I already LOVE it!! I'm seriously going to have to try out for that show. Dude, I'm so hooked up already it's not even fair! A little koala with attitude and charm? How could the producers deny me?

I'm still trying to remember the names of this year's players, but I know I [heart] Stephenie! growwwwwllll!!!! I'm not so sure about all those puky boys, though. Dude, suck it up!!!!

It's hot here today. I think it's time for bed. Cheers!!

one busy summer!

I suppose you all have wondered where I've been. Me too. It's been a busy summer, yo. I've been working two jobs to make money so I can go to Vegas next month. I've got a paper route and I'm tending bar on the side too. The paper route is kinda boring, but it gives me time to clear my head. The bar gig is cool because I meet all sorts of people and hear them bitch about their stupid problems about their interesting lives...or something like that.

Anyway, yeah, a lot going on in the world. The president sucks large, we know that. I wish I could've voted, but I'm not allowed.

Kevvy and I pooled some money for two donations: one went to the Red Cross, the other to the Humane Society.

I hope you all do the same. Too many displaced animals were left behind too. Let's save them while we can.

Cheers.
